Stacey Venter has climbed many ladders and crossed many rivers to get to the point she is in, she has inspired many women—including myself—to never limit them to one career path but to be open exploring more facets of yourself and attributes her grandmother to all her success, she never gave up on herself even when it was tough. Being the Senior Manager of PR and communications has been a good experience but not always an easy one as she had to learn to be more of a people person and work with a trusted team as opposed to her always being a technical person, she had to adapt how to an environment that thrives off teamwork. She makes sure her team always builds and maintains a good reputation for Showmax and is up to date with all the current social trends and changes in order to uplift the brand. With social media being at the forefront of the new world order, Stacey and her team must always stay informed with technological advances so Showmax and MultiChoice can grow with their audience and supporters. As a former journalist Stacey has always found building a business relationship with the media and social influencers to be advantageous to the Showmax brand and her taking a diplomatic approach to her work has helped her insight on what is on trend, how can Showmax stay relevant to the social order and what can build and manage the multichoice reputation.
STACEY
Stacey has expressed the need for more conversations around women entering leadership positions and the fact that the MultiChoice Group has kept their word in this cause— as she has seen a huge number of females holding senior positions—has inspired her gratitude for being a part of the #HereforHer campaign this year and proves their testament to the empowerment of women. She has expressed the need for more campaigns that empower women in many spaces— and she herself has contributed to the upliftment of women in the MultiChoice Group through her bold efforts of speaking for women and singing praises of them in high places. She has expressed that once you’re sitting at a higher vantage point with the decision makers, you have the power to uplift people. Stacey being the definition of Imbokodo, has managed to bring even more awareness to the Gender Based Violence by offering victims or potential whistle blowers the contact details or names of the organizations that could assist women in need and by incorporating trigger warning sensors of possible scenes of GBV on countless Showmax programmessuch as The Wife. Stacey Venter is an inspiration to many women— especially with all her accomplishments, and her advice to women is to always network at social and non-social events even if its awkward, be open to ask for a favor and to do a favor as you never know who is going to uplift you and help you one day. She hopes when young women begin their careers in PR and communications and enter the corporate world to look to her as inspiration.
